No. Alva LINK is designed for self-installation. No electrician, no wiring inside panels, no opening your heat pump's enclosure.

Here is the complete installation process

1. Mount LINK on the wall — near your energy asset (heat pump controller, inverter, or EV charger). Use the included adhesive pad or two screws. The device is compact and light.
2. Connect the power cable — plug the included USB-C cable into LINK and the power adapter into any standard outlet.
3. Connect to your energy asset — run a single Ethernet cable (for Modbus TCP/IP) or RS-485 cable (for Modbus RTU) from LINK to your device's communication port.
